Sailing the Indonesian seas including Komodo, Raja Ampat and Banda. MY Emperor Raja Laut, a member of the Emperor Fleet accommodating just 12 guests in 6 extremely comfortable twin or double cabins.

Asia's geography, climate, logistics and infrastructure present its own unique challenges and, with this in mind, the Raja Laut was designed with the specific requirements for yacht charter in South East Asia. Raja Laut means 'King of the Sea' and stepping on board this 'schooner style' inspired yacht, built from tropical hardwood, you will experience a truly regal sense of sailing the Indonesian seas; freedom, style and comfort. Itineraries include the areas of Komodo, Raja Ampat, Banda, Flores and Alor.

She comfortably accommodates 12 guests in 6 cabins (3 double bed cabins, 3 twin bed cabins), each with ensuite, mini safe, individually controlled air-conditioning and fan.

On the same level as the cabins is a lounge area, fully air-conditioned with a 49" HD flat screen, movie, music & book library, board games and mini-bar

On the stunning teak upper deck are multiple beds for sunbathing or lounging, both in the sun and under shade, and a central dining table where meals are served alfresco under a large awning.

All diving is done from two large RIBs with outboards to get you to the perfect dive spot every time. She offers free NITROX, all diving and safety equipment and two dive guides. SMBs are provided FREE of charge on-board.

Route Options

7 - 11 night trips | July to October

The Komodo National Park is world renowned for the excellent quality and variety of diving. Water temperatures change between the north and south of the Park and provide varied encounters. In the north we have the black sands of the Sangeang Volcano with its critters and bubble flows and the reefs around Gili Banta. The south provides cooler temperatures with manta action and nutrient rich reefs with ocean flow from the Indian Ocean. The central section provides reefs and small islands teeming with life fed by the currents running between the islands of Komodo and Rinca. Add to this the chance to see the famous Komodo Dragon in its natural habitat, beautiful beaches, look-outs to climb and you have a paradise both below and above the water.

A 7-night cruise generally takes in sites in the Central and Southern Sections of the Komodo National Park. On occasions the cruise will take in the Central and Northern Sections depending on sea and wind conditions, especially related to southerly swells.

Please note: Divers going to South Komodo need to realise the temperatures can drop from 28°C to around 20°C. A 5mm wetsuit and hood is highly recommended for this region. Water temperature in the central and northern section of the park average 27-28°C.

Raja Ampat, which in Indonesian means the Four Kings, is a Marine Park world renowned for being the epicentre of marine biodiversity. The park covers a large area with approximately 170 nautical miles separating the northern and southern extremities. It would be possible to dive for weeks and weeks without seeing the same sites twice.Raja Ampat can be divided into three sections covering the North, Central and Southern Sections. Spectacular scenery both above and below the water make this heritage area unique and a bucket list item for both divers and lovers of nature.

Yellow Wall

Komodo & Lesser Sunda, Indonesia

Yellow Wall, as the name implies, drops vertically along the face of an island and is thick with yellow soft corals in 40 to 80 feet of water. Coral grouper, hawkish, clownfish, and other tropical fish seem almost out of place here with the green water and cool temperatures.

Crystal Rock

Crystal Rock is a large seamount that barely breaks the surface, but below is very rich in marine life, particularly lionfish, anthias, coral grouper, and butterfly fish. Some of the current underwater is swift, but nothing that divers cannot swim against and the rich wide-angle potential of the colourful filter feeders make it worthwhile.

Tatawa Kecil

Komodo & Lesser Sunda, Indonesia

This is a small island South of Tatawa Besar island and offers fantastic snorkeling when the current is not to strong. It is best to dive the Western side of the island with rocks, caves and beautiful coral gardens in the shallows. Many coral reef fish, including large groupers, snappers, sweetlips, jacks and sharks swim around. Tatawa Kecil is probably the anthias capital of the world! Manta rays are often spotted on the southern side.

Lighthouse Reef

The northeast tip of Gililawa Laut is forever a great site to dive if you are into fish but not corals. On the corner of the reef sits rests a very large rock, behind which a drop off covered with boulders many holes in between is found. Excellent grouper country and if divers are there at the right time, especially in October and November, will see many groupers aggregate to spawn; then there are many golden trevallies, snappers and sometimes huge napoleon wrasses. The best time to dive this site is in slight current before or after slack-tide.

Three Sisters

Komodo & Lesser Sunda, Indonesia

Three Sisters are three quite large flooded pinnacles within easy swimming distance of each other at about 10 meters apart. They are about five meters below the surface, making them a bit hard to find, and bottoms out at about maximum 30 meters onto rubble and sand. The rocks run to the East in line at about 100 meters from a small reef that sticks out on the Eastern side of an island. It is not too affected by current and can usually be dived. The walls of the pinnacles are covered in soft corals, Tubastrea, and Crinoids. The tops of the pinnacles offer stunning hard and soft coral gardens.

Three Sisters dive site in the Komodo Islands seems to be pure with an incredible coral cover and a great fish life.

The three sisters are 3 big rocks on a 30 m deep sandy bottom. The top part of the rocks is about 3 m deep, perfect to finish the dive in the shallow water.

On this dive site you can find many species of nudibranchs. In the blue, pellagic fishes swim around and whitetip sharks are often on the deeper part of the site.

Manta Sandy

Raja Ampat, Indonesia

Manta Sandy also known as Manta Mantra is one of the signature dive sites in Raja Ampat located at the far end of Mansour Island. As the name implies the sandy bottom is a great place to watch these magnificent underwater creatures. The cleaning station is only 12 metres away and here you can watch the mantas being cleaned with some staying as long as 10 minutes.

Secret Garden

One of the top dive sites at Padar Island. As the name of the dive site suggests it has a beautiful coral garden of black coral along a mini wall covered with soft corals. There is a resident school of mobula rays that seem to like swimming through the dive site giving good opportunities to the divers to see them. Nudibranchs, leaf fish, frogfish and the incredible sea apples can be seen here too.

Shotgun

Batu Bolong

Komodo & Lesser Sunda, Indonesia

Batu Bolong is one of the best-known dive sites when diving Komodo. It’s actually a little underwater sea mount that extends above the surface, where the rock (“batu”) has a small hole (“bolong”) in it. The top of the reef is covered in colourful corals, invertebrate life and thousands of reef fish. Along the steep walls in deeper water you’ll find many large fishes including sharks, napoleon wrasse, giant trevally, dogtooth tuna, and large schools of rainbow runners.

Castle Rock

Once out of the current divers are in for an exceptional treat. The fish life here is simply stunning with schooling barracuda, trevally, and mackerel awaiting divers at depths of 30-40 meters. White tips, black tips, gray reef sharks and giant trevally all frequent this site in hopes of a good meal. At approximately 20 meters there is excellent soft coral growth and numerous sea fans that host the tiniest of pygmy seahorses. Curious batfish will escort you, and fusiliers will pass you by as you look for big rays out in the blue. In recent times a pod of bottlenose dolphins have made this spot one of their favorite hunting grounds, and you can often see them while diving.

Tatawa Besar

Tatawa Besar dive site is an easy drift in shallow waters. It can be very rewarding with many manta rays in the rainy season! It is is located on the Northwestern tip of the Tatawa island in the Komodo National Park. The reef life is excellent and there are many orange soft corals.

Whale Rock

The rocky islet has a distinctive whale shape when it is viewed from the south, hence the name. Due to the exposed position of the island, most dives here are drift dives, and it will be enjoyable for divers to drift along the gently sloping reef beautifully encrusted with corals and sponges.

Boo Windows

Sardine Reef

Raja Ampat, Indonesia

Soft coral, gorgonian fans, black coral bushes and slopes of coral heads populate the whole Sardine Reef area. Large schools of fusiliers, sardines, damsels, banner fish, butterfly fish, sweetlips and snappers frequent the site, picking tasty morsels out of the current. Triggerfish and predators such as barracuda, Spanish mackerel, Jacks and giant trevallies can be seen as well. At the top of the food-chain, black tipped reef sharks, white tipped reef sharks and even grey reef sharks usually cruise the surroundings.

Blue Magic

Raja Ampat, Indonesia

One of the most popular sites in northern Raja Ampat. Almost anything can be seen from mantas, sharks and tuna to massive schools of jacks and barracuda. Along the slopes and onto the reef top are a variety of fans, sponges and soft and hard corals.

Cape Kri

Raja Ampat, Indonesia

At the Northeast point of Kri island the currents sweep into a channel between Kri and the small island of Koh. At this point beneath waters churning in the current, huge schools of Big-eye trevallies, Barracudas and Snappers can be seen hanging over the drop-off. At the base of the reef an ancient snagged anchor rests next to a bommie with a dense school of Banded sweetlips. A large shallow coral garden crowns the reef top with blacktip reef sharks patrolling amongst the overlapping maze of hard corals with feeding hawksbill turtles. Car-sized Queensland groupers down to the diminutive ever-present pygmy seahorse can be seen on this phenomenal dive site.

Chicken Reef

It is a reef with various soft and hard corals and some rock formations. The reef has an enormous number of magnificent reef fish. Some of the life here includes table corals, black staghorn corals, feather corals, angelfish, clown triggerfish, butterflyfish, trevallies, surgeonfish, and red-margin shrimpgobies.

Arborek Jetty

While down in the coral rubble on the slope around the jetties you will find jawfish, pipefish and other critters. Further down are several bommies which are home to some schooling sweetlips and numerous critters.

Melissa's Garden

The dive site features an oval-shaped reef with a flat top where extended areas of coral gardens impress divers with their intense colors and beautiful forms. Bright soft-coral outcrops, sponges, and masses of crinoids are densely scattered between impressive hard-coral formations, where a large array of small marine creatures found their shelters.

Nudi Rock

Marine life from big to small can all be seen at this stunning site. Black tip, white tips, grey reef sharks and dog tooth tuna can all be seen cruising by whilst hiding amongst the corals are cowries, nudibranchs, porcelain crabs and mushroom coral pipefish.

Torpedo Alley

In Nusa Kode, the dark sandy slope is littered with torpedo rays which give the site its name. Pygmy seahorses can be spotted in the gorgonian fans in deeper water and many nudibranchs and crustaceans are found all over the sloping reef.

Golden Passage

This dive site is the channel between Gili Lawa Darat and Komodo Island. Also known as Darat Passage.

The dive then starts in the shallow eastern bay and the current takes you westwards through a beautiful coral garden.

The coral garden is beautiful and deeper you get more life you’ll find there awaiting for you. You will cross the channel about 20 meters deep surrounded by amazing landscapes always changing and fish.

Schools of sweet lips, trevally, reefs white and black tip sharks. Lots of turtles. In few occasion we met giant manta ray and dolphins.

Hot Rocks

Komodo & Lesser Sunda, Indonesia

The hot rocks dive site is located in the waters around the volcanic Sangeang Island. The volcano is active, and due to this, streams of bubbles of volcanic gases rise from the sea bottom, creating a unique underwater picture.

The shallow areas of the site contain rocks that are actually physically hot, and are unforgettable because they are covered with glowing pink anemones spreading neon light contrasting with the black sand.

The deep areas of the site have sandy slopes and corals, black coral formations, and a small cave. Due to its unique seascape and unusual streams of volcanic gas bubbles.

Some species found at this dive site include multi-colored soft corals, black coral formations, anemones, gorgonian fans, pygmy seahorses, trumpetfish, octopi, lobsters, and nudibranchs.

Candy Store

Raja Ampat, Indonesia

The Candy Store wows with its spectacular soft corals and perfusion of fish life. At times it was truly like diving in fish soup! Candy Store named so as the frst divers to explore this reef felt like kids in a candy store, is covered in huge sponges, beautiful soft corals and sea fans. In the valleys, schools of fusiliers, butterfy fsh and barracuda gather.

Four Kings

Raja Ampat, Indonesia

Four Kings is made up of four underwater pinnacles covered in soft coral and colourful tunicates. You vcan swim from one rock to the next, enjoying the soft corals, psychedelic colours and abundant fsh life. Be sure to look out for turtles here.

Barracuda Rock

Raja Ampat, Indonesia

This site is called Barracuda rock but schooling trivially are the highlight of this one. Watch them come in wave after wave in perfect formation. A great undercut on this site gives divers the chance to get amongst the critters that like to hide in the dark and shelter here.

Citrus Ridge

Raja Ampat, Indonesia

Situated between Gam and the Yanggelo Islands, a reef extends out into a point in the middle of the channel, forming a great spot for a dive. Citrus Ridge features a white sandy bottom. In the right conditions you can expect some of the highest voltage diving in Raja Ampat, with currents bringing massive schools of barracudas, three species of fusiliers, trevallies, batfsh, bump head parrotfsh, wobbegongs, as well as black and white tip reef sharks.

Mayhem

Raja Ampat, Indonesia

Mayhem gets its name from the insane swarms of fusiliers, trevally, barracuda, surgeonfish and batfish that bestow this fully submerged reef. From the surface you would not even know this site exists of the north western tip of Yanggefo Island.

It is a circular flat topped reef, with sloping walls on all sides covered in hard and soft corals. The best parts of the reef are on the north and east sides. Occasional pelagic sharks wander into this site.

Boulders

Komodo & Lesser Sunda, Indonesia

This site is called boulders as this point there are several big boulders laying on the bottom. The deepest rock is in about 30 m of water and the shallowest rock is about 8 meters of water. The best point of entry is 100 meters south of the point.

Here the reefs slopes down to a dark sand bottom in 30 to 35meters of water. Here you will find a forest of softcoral growing on the sand . Then swim reef left up to 20 meters or so until you hit the boulders. Along the way check out all the fire urchins for the illusive Coleman Shrimp.

The Boulders themselves have good coral,invertebrate and fish life. Quite often Mobular Mantas can be seen in this area. Also a good night dive.

Mini Wall

Komodo & Lesser Sunda, Indonesia

Mini Wall also located on north face of Sebayor Kecil. This dive is an excellent check out dive or just a nice easy dive if you don’t wish to deal with current. The entry point marked by a long low rocky point east of the beach that is in the middle of the islands north coast.

Divers can expect to see the normal Komodo marine life especially along the plateau area where there are many sweetlips, batfish, butterflyfish, parrotfish, anthias, damselfish, and other fish swimming around. Divers should be able to see spotted eagle rays and manta rays swimming around the reef as well. The wall has many caves and holes and these are home to a variety of smaller marine life including a number of giant spiny lobster.

Sebayor Kecil

The North western corner of Sebayor Kecil is one of the better dive sites at closer distance to Labuan Bajo. A small reef is extending towards the north west and around the edges where it drops of to greater depths, at a few hundred meters from the shore, there are some large boulders around which we can usually see groups of giants trevally, whitetip reef shark, coral trout, snappers and emperors. Most of the wall is well protected from current and usually has great visibility.

Mioskon Reef

Raja Ampat, Indonesia

The beautiful Mioskon reef offers new divers a great first impression of what they can expect from Raja Ampat. Schools of Yellow Snapper, Napoleon Wrasse, big groupers and many Wobbegong sharks can be found in Mioskon. Pigmy seahorses, different species of nudibranch can be seen as well. Being relatively shallow it makes for a good snorkel too.

Cape Kri Area

Raja Ampat, Indonesia

Blue Magic - This submerged ridge running east to west is composed mainly of hard corals with a few colorful bommies on the eastern end. An impressive variety of fish enjoy this spot such as tuna, jacks, barracuda, and fusiliers. You might also meet oceanic mantas at the cleaning station on the top of the seamount. Cape Kri - Cape Kri in the Dampier Strait is one of the most famous dive sites of Raja Ampat. The reef is en extention of the south side of Kri Island and is one of the best sites for big fish in North Raja Ampat. Beautiful coral, the huge density and variety of fish including barracudas, sweetlips, emperor angelfish, snappers, giant trevally and grey reef sharks make this a site not to be missed. Chicken Reef - Chicken Reef is a submerged pinnacle on the outskirts of Pulau Kri. Quite shallow, the slope is dotted with large coral bommies and plenty of critters can be found hiding within the gorgonian fans, anemones and soft coral formations. Mike's Point - Mike's Point is famous for its strong currents and the pure density and variety of fish found here. A spectacular dive just of Kerupiar Island which was bombed by allied planes during WWII after being mistakenly identified as a Japanese Ship. Mioskon - The Mioskon dive site offers a beautiful reef covered in the Northen Raja Ampat signature purple soft coral and schools of Yellow Snapper, Napoleon Wrasse, big groupers and Wobbegong sharks. Sardine Reef - Sardine Reef is a highlight of the Dampier Strait area. An oval shaped reef patch, it sits right in the middle of the open ocean. Around the reef, schools of fusiliers, Surgeonfish, Snappers, Damselfish and butterflyfish surrounded by predators, such as Barracuda, Spanish Mackerel, Giant Trevallies and several types of Jacks. On occasion you might even find some Grey Reef Sharks cruising around.
