Itinerary Overview

Day 1 Depart from UK

Day 1: Ready, set, travel to Luxor

When you arrive in Luxor, our guide will meet you at the airport and check you in for your Nile cruise.

The Nile cruise ship departs from Luxor every Monday.

Day 2 – Just cruising

Day 2: Setting Sail on a Nile-tastic Adventure

Settle in and enjoy your second day onboard your Nile cruise ship. After an early breakfast, you will begin your Egyptian adventure exploring the West Bank’s highlights, including the Colossi of Memnon, Valley of the Kings, Valley of the Queens, and the Temple of Hatshepsut, where the legacy of Egypt’s great pharaohs comes to life.

Set sail along the River Nile, beginning your Egyptian adventure.

Day 3: Sail towards Aswan

Day 3: Edfu – Kom Ombo - Aswan

Enjoy breakfast on board as you continue your journey along the River Nile. Your guide will take you to visit Edfu Temple, where you will explore a beautifully preserved site that tells the legendary battle tale of Horus and Seth, all set against a stunning backdrop of ancient mythology. Afterwards set sail towards Kom Ombo temple before dinner.

Continue sailing to Aswan for an overnight stay.

Day 4: Aswan

Day 4: Visit High Dam & Temple of Isis

After breakfast, discover the High Dam in Aswan, built between 1960 and 1971 to power the villages along the River Nile. Marvel at the Unfinished Obelisk and the Temple of Isis on picturesque Philae Island. Savor lunch onboard before enjoying a leisurely afternoon. For an extra treat, consider an optional evening sound and light show at the Temple of Philae.

Day 5: Abu Simbel

Day 5: Day trip to Abu Simbel

After an early morning breakfast, set off on an exciting trip to the magnificent Abu Simbel temples, built by Ramses II on the shores of Lake Nasser. These colossal temples, with their towering statues and intricate carvings, are a testament to ancient Egypt's grandeur.

After this unforgettable excursion, you can opt to unwind with a scenic boat ride around Elephantine Island and explore the lush Botanical Gardens on Kitchener's Island.

Day 6: Aswan – Kom Ombo

Day 6: Relax and reflect

Enjoy a relaxing morning at leisure. After lunch onboard, set sail for Kom Ombo. Unlike most temples in Egypt, Kom Ombo is uniquely dedicated to two deities: Sobek, the crocodile-headed god of fertility, and Horus, the falcon-headed god of the sky. Following a brief visit to the Kom Ombo temple, continue your journey and spend the night onboard.

Day 7: Sail to Luxor

Day 7: Luxor, we are back

Arrive in Luxor. After lunch onboard, embark on a journey to explore Karnak Temple, renowned as the world’s greatest open-air museum. Covering a vast area, it boasts numerous temples, with the Temple of Amun being the largest. Next, visit the nearby Luxor Temple, once connected to Karnak by a grand avenue of Sphinxes, many of which still stand today. Return to the boat for a final dinner on board and an overnight stay in Luxor, reflecting on the highlights of your unforgettable tour.

Day 8: Return to the UK

Day 8: Soak up the culture and make your way back to UK

After disembarkation, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back home after exploring ancient Egypt’s wonders. Travelling along the River Nile is the best way to discover Egypt and by the end of the trip, you will realise how important the river has been over the centuries, and still is.

Direct flights from Luxor are operated by TUI, EasyJet and EgyptAir and are available once a week. However, routes via Cairo are recommended to take advantage of the flexible dates.
