A quiet and small island retreat with 2 uninhabited islands within a 500 metre walking distance, it is no wonder guests who stay at Rihiveli Beach Resort never want to leave! This stunningly picturesque island resort is perfect for that romantic getaway or even that family holiday that you have been longing for. With only 48 beach bungalows this really is a place to get away from all of the hustle and bustle of everyday life back home. With a rustic, barefoot existence encouraged by all, this wonderfully friendly resort will be an unforgettable experience. At the Rihiveli Beach Resort guests are made to feel at home and experience all traditional hospitality practices. Along with the beautiful scenery above the water the underwater topography is divine, with an extensive house reef and access to some of the Maldives best dive sites this really is the perfect little paradise.

The Rihiveli Beach Resort has 44 bungalows tucked away in the shade of palm trees, each with its own private garden and furnished with the island's own wood. The bungalows are 4 meters away from the beach including 41 doubles or twins and 3 triples. All are decorated beautifully and in traditional Maldivian style with a very light and airy feel to them. The resort offers a full board option with a choice of different cuisine on offer everyday encompassing French, Italian, Maldivian or Asian. Meals are either buffet style or set menu and served in the semi open air communal restaurant overlooking the ocean. There is also a daily barbeque lunch served at Sunrise Island and for that special occasion you can book a romantic a la carte fish meal served on the beach under the stars.

For a small island there certainly is no shortage of activities to get stuck into throughout your stay. Sporting activities and excursions will keep you entertained all day long with options such as volleyball, tennis, kayaking, catamaran sailing, windsurfing, water skiing and snorkelling. These activities are included in the full board package. Also on offer with a supplement are big game fishing, diving, night snorkelling and rental of boats for half or full days.

The dive centre based at Rihiveli Beach Resort is world renowned Euro Divers. This PADI dive centre will take each guest on an unforgettable experience around the many beautiful and awe inspiring dive sites that encompass the South Male Atoll. With around 20 spectacular dive sites nearby, including Pitt Point the local colourful lagoon with overhangs, untouched corals, small critters, eagle rays, turtles and white-tip sharks. To the seasonal spots such as Ranikan where spotting whale sharks and manta rays is custom and Manta Point a ‘cleaning station’ for the manta rays are available from mid-May to November. South Male is one of the best suited areas in the Maldives for beginner and novice divers due to the fact that there is access to sheltered dive sites that are protected from the usual strong currents the Maldives is known for.

Rihiveli Beach Resort

Euro Divers is a 5 Star PADI dive centre located at Rihiveli Island Resort offering divers a friendly, safe environment with a high standard of service. This well established dive centre compromises of three multi-lingual, knowledgeable instructors and a wide range of products which means the centre can professionally organise and guarantee you a fun and memorable diving experience whether you are a new or experienced diver. Due to the location of Rihiveli Island Resort there are several amazing channels and outside reefs close by offering dolphins, mobulas rays, tropical reef fishes and other large pelagic fish. Turtles, mantas and whale sharks can be spotted from May to October!

There are a range of experiences on offer whether you choose an individual dive package, a beginner’s course or a course for experienced divers, Euro Divers has it all. All PADI centres provide courses as well as specialities and a wide range of excursion programs for divers such as daily morning and afternoon dives, early morning dives, night dives, special full day excursions, wreck dives, special hammerhead dives and much more. Nitrox is available in all centres and free of charge for PADI and NRC certified divers. Fluoro diving is now also an option at all the Maldives dive centres it is a relatively new development nonetheless a very mesmerising one, you will be put in very small groups and equipped with special lights and mask filters which enables you to discover the reef by night. A very fascinating experience!

Euro Divers dive boats are comfortable and equipped with a sundeck, first aid kit, oxygen equipment (DAN) as well as with radio or mobile phones. In between dives the crew offers small refreshments on board.

PADI Open Water Diver

This is the most popular dive program in the world! And can be your chance to have a lifetime of intense adventures.

The PADI Open Water Diver course consists of three main phases:

Knowledge Development ( online, independent study or in a classroom) to understand basic principles of scuba diving
Confined Water Dives to learn basic scuba skills
Open Water Dives to use your skills and explore!

PADI Scuba Diver to Open Water Upgrade

This program will allow you to dive to depths of 18 metres and achieve the most popular dive program in the world!

From the beginning to end of the course, you will learn the fundamentals of scuba diving, including areas such as dive equipment and techniques that will give you the confidence and skill to become a responsible diver.

PADI Advanced Open Water Diver

The Advanced Open Water Diver program gives you the opportunity to take your diving skill to the next level through three new areas of diving.
You complete your Deep Dive, Underwater Navigation Dive, Night Dive and two other dives for a total of five to attain your Advanced Open Water Diver certification.

This certification includes five dives, including the Deep Diver, the Underwater Navigation Diver and three of the following: You’ll plan your learning path with your instructor by choosing from a long list of Adventure Dives. There are two required dives – Deep and Underwater Navigation – and you choose the other three, for a total of five dives. During the Deep Adventure Dive, you learn how to plan dives to deal with the physiological effects and challenges of deeper scuba diving. The Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive refines your compass navigation skills and helps you better navigate using kick-cycles, visual landmarks and time.

The other knowledge and skills you get vary with your interest and the adventures you have – photography, buoyancy control, fish identification, exploring wrecks and many more.

PADI Rescue Diver

Become a Rescue Diver. A great level to be. You will have the skills to aid your fellow divers in an emergency.

The PADI Rescue Diver course prepares you to deal with dive emergencies, minor and major, using a variety of techniques. Through knowledge development and rescue exercises, you learn what to look for and how to respond. During rescue scenarios, you put into practice your knowledge and skills. Topics include:

PADI Scuba Diver

This course is a subset of the PADI Open Water Dive Course. If you’re short on time but really want to become a diver, The PADI Scuba Diver rating might be right for you.

The PADI Scuba Diver course consists of three main phases:

PADI Enriched Air Diver

The most popular PADI specialty course. Scuba diving with enriched air nitrox gives you more no decompression time, especially on repetitive scuba dives.
