Belize lies on the eastern coastline of central America, bordered on the north by Mexico, on the south west by Guatemala, and on the east by the Caribbean Sea. Belize has the second largest barrier reef in the world. Towards the north of the country the barrier reef runs near the shoreline and is possible to shore dive in some places. In the south the barrier reef is 20 miles out. Over the horizon from the outer edge of the barrier reef, there are the true Belize reef systems, the Turneffe Atoll, the Lighthouse Reef and the Glovers Reef.

San Pedro is home to Ramon's and the proximity of the Barrier Reef, just over a 1/4 mile offshore, allows Ramon’s to choose from 30 or 40 named sites within a 5 to 15-minute boat ride from the resort’s dock. On offer there are daily trips at 9:00am, 11:30am and 2:00pm to dive sites along the Belize Barrier Reef adjacent to Ambergris Caye. Between dives, you will return to the resort’s dock to exchange tanks and fulfil your surface interval requirements. This also allows you to choose any combination of dives each day.

With so many wonderful places to explore across Belize and around the world, Glover's Reef is home to Isla Marisol and it is certainly a "bucket list" destination. Designated as a UN World Heritage Site and Protected Marine Park, Glover's Reef Atoll encompasses some of the best diving, snorkeling, paddling, and fishing across the entire Caribbean.

Itinerary Overview

Day 1: Depart the UK to Belize

Fly from one of the UK major airports to Belize via Miami

Flights depart from Heathrow at 11:30 arriving Belize at 06:35 the next day. This is a transit flight via Miami with connecting flights the same evening.

Day 2: Arrive Belize and Check In at Ramon's

Arrive Belize City and take a scenic flight to San Pedro when you will stay for 6 nights.

On arrival at Belize City you will be in for a treat right from the start of your holiday with a short and scenic flight to San Pedro departing 11:40 and arriving 11:55.

On arrival you will be met by a member of the Ramon's Village Resort and transfered to the resort on one of the many gold carts in Ambergris Caye.

Ramon’s Village caters for adventurous divers and water sports lovers looking for a true Belizean experience. The resort is styled in Tahitian style with all cabanas built from native materials and nestled in a sanctuary of tropical gardens full of royal palms, bougainvillea, lilies, hibiscus and dozens of other types of tropical flora.

Day 3 - 6: Daily Diving

The proximity of the Barrier Reef, just over a 1/4 mile offshore, allows Ramon’s to choose from 30 or 40 named sites within a 5 to 15-minute boat ride from the resort’s dock.

Ramon’s Village Divers is the oldest and most respected dive shop in all of Belize. Rick Sutherland has managed the shop since 1989 and employs only the best of “Belize’s Best” divers to care for divers visiting the resort. Ramon’s has been a PADI 5 Star IDC Resort since 2008.

The dive centre maintains a fleet of four skiffs ranging in size from 28' to 34'. These boats are used for dives along the Belize Barrier Reef in the vicinity of Ambergris Caye and carry up to eight divers plus crew.

Day 7: Leisure Day

The perfect opportunity to explore Ramon's white sandy beach and shops if you have not done it yet and take a tour around San Pedro's bustling roads.

San Pedro is a picture postcard setting beside the clear turquoise Caribbean sea. Coconut palms sway and rustle in the gentle cooling trade winds. Low rise hotels, guest houses and boutique style resorts & condos, from modest to magnificent, are nestled along the coast and throughout the town.

Day 8: Fly to Dangriga and check in at the Isla Marisol

Depart San Pedro to Belize City at 09:00 and Connect to Dangriga at 11:00. This part of the itinerary only works with arrivals on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

On arrival at Dangriga at around 11:15 you will be met by a member of the Isla Marisol and transferred to the hotel by car and boat.

Isla Marisol Resort is a 5-star PADI dive resort located on Southwest Caye of Glover's Reef Atoll, 36 miles from the Dangriga on the Belize coastline. Situated amid an idyllic UN World Heritage Site and Protected Marine Park, Isla Marisol is perfectly positioned to offer unparalleled island and ocean tours suited to all levels of experience.

Here you will experience unrivalled Belize scuba diving and incredible snorkeling just steps away from private beach cabanas and oceanfront reef houses.

Day 9 - 13: Daily Diving

Isla Marisol Resort offers 3 dives every day and night dives each night.

Local dives are scheduled every day in the waters surrounding Glover’s Reef Marine Reserve. Most local dive sites are only 5 to15 minutes ride from the resort, allowing for short boat rides and long, luxuriating dives.

The dive centre is very spacious and located on a beautiful dock with a fleet of 2 well maintained dive boats used for dives along the reef.

Day 14: Transfer to Dangriga & hotel Check In

Depart Isla Marisol in the morning for the low scenic flight from Dangriga at 12:20 to Belize City where you will spend your last night of the trip.

On arrival in Belize City you will be met by a met by a member of our ground team and transferred to the Radisson Ft. George Hotel & Marina where you will have the opportunity to relax and unwind before your flight home the next day.

If you are still feeling adventures, we recommend a trip to the Belize Maya Ruins, once the heartland of the ancient Maya Empire.

Day 15: Return Home

Sadly it is time to say goodbye to this adventure and start the journey home!

You will be transferred to the airport to star your journey back home.

Your flight will depart Belize City at 14:09 and arrive Heathrow at 09:15 the next day. This is a transit flight via Miami with connecting flights the same evening.
