Oceanic Village is situated on Vaavu Atoll, only an hour and half by speedboat from the airport to this relatively untouched island offering guests breath-taking views, privacy, relaxation and impeccable service. The resort is a stunning fusion of modern contemporary designs with traditional Maldivian forms, situated at the edge of the scenic white sandy beach and shallow lagoon, it is peaceful, tranquil and surrounded by lush green vegetation. With an array of thrilling sights to encounter here one of the top wonders is infamous Fotteyo Falhu which is the largest continuous barrier reef in the Maldives. Guests can also experience baby rays and sharks cruising around the lagoon at night!
A small and intimate resort, the 8 deluxe beach house rooms are spacious, modern and simplistic in design. In keeping with traditional style all comprise of a large living area with a queen size bed, a mini bar and T.V with movies and documentaries. Guests can enjoy the semi open air bathroom that entails a rain water shower and state of the art fittings and fixtures, sliding patio doors that open out onto a terrace with wooden decking looking out over tropical gardens where you can relax after a day’s adventure. The resort offers a full board option, an a la carte restaurant serving Maldivian and western cuisines suits all guests needs perfectly, a day’s fresh catch barbeque on the beachfront is arranged daily and for that special occasion a romantic dinner on the beach under the stars is always possible. As per Maldivian law and regulations due to the island being inhabited it is forbidden to serve any alcoholic drinks.
Oceanic Village is the perfect place for divers and non-divers alike as there are plenty of activities going on to keep even the busiest of people entertained including snorkelling, catamaran, canoeing or jet ski rides, a picnic at one of the un-inhabited islands, a romantic dinner on the beach, local island tours and fishing trips. You can even go on an expedition to one of the native islands and emerge yourself into the traditional Maldivian way of life by interacting and understanding the lifestyle of the locals, indulging in local cuisine, relaxing at one of the tea houses or joining in a local game of chess or football.
Ideal for beginners and advanced divers Vaavu Atoll is a relatively untouched emergent paradise, made up of 19 beautiful islands and atolls, it is the smallest and least commercialised area of the Maldives. This is apparent when you go diving as the pristine and clear blue warm waters are teeming with fish and larger marine life, as well as channels, submerged pinnacles, walls and overhangs. There are 23 dive sites to explore, the experienced and friendly dive team who runs the resort’s dive centre will ensure you get to the top spots. To guarantee sighting the mantas we recommend you plan your holiday between May and July, the rest of the year you will definitely spot grey and white tip reef sharks, huge shoals of barracuda, snapper and trevally. With spectacles like the largest continuous barrier reef in the Maldives stretching for 50 km, the fast-flowing currents give you the chance to experience large pelagic encounters. It is also possible to come up close and personal with hammerhead sharks and from March to June whale sharks are common in the area.
Board Basis :
- Full Board Diver including breakfast, lunch and dinner, tea, coffee and drinking water as well as 12 dives with tanks and weights on a 7 night package.
Transfer Times
- The speed boat transfer is included and takes approximately 1.5 hours it departs on a Sunday at 2pm from Male to Oceanic and returns on a Saturday at 7.30am from Oceanic to Male
