Kuredu Island Resort

The Kuredu Island Resort is located on the northern tip of Lhaviyani Atoll, just 90 miles north of the international airport and a mere 40 minute seaplane journey providing astounding views of the world’s most distinct established atolls. This large yet exquisitely designed resort has everything to offer the seasoned traveller, you really have landed in paradise, encircled by a soft white sandy beach the island resort is picture perfect and the ideal place for those looking for a dynamic cosmopolitan setting with an array of facilities to suit all. The surrounding pristine blue waters are renowned for bountiful marine life, here you will be dazzled with colourful coral reef, abundant reef fish, turtles, sharks and rays!

The resort consists of six types of accommodation, offering an amazing variety to suit all pockets. To ensure you receive the best value for money, the resort offers half board, full board, and all-inclusive packages. The resort is designed into three distinct locations: the main beach, the Sangu resort and the ‘O’ resort, thus enabling it to cater for adults, children, divers and couples. Be it the location of your accommodation, the restaurant you wish to dine in, or the facilities in the room, you will be spoilt for choice as the resort has 4 main restaurants, 3 a-la-carte themed restaurants, 7 bars, and 2 tea houses.

Kuredu Island has a stunning lagoon, house reef and access to around 60 dive sites just a short boat ride away. Prodivers is the on-site PADI 5 star dive centre and the experienced dive team will find the perfect spot for any diver, new or experienced. Offering guided dives and courses with daily boat trips to the numerous dives sites in the surrounding area it enables divers the experience to enjoy the amazing unspoilt colourful coral reefs, dazzling schools of fish and get up close and personal encounters with sea turtles. You can also find friendly reef sharks cruising the waters around Kuredu and between November and May you may be lucky enough to spot a dozen journeying Manta Rays!

When you are not diving you can take advantage of the myriad of other activities on offer including 2 sparkling clear fresh water swimming pools overlooking the beach and a children’s wading pool. Equally you can enjoy a game of tennis in the floodlit tennis court, play in the only golf club in the Maldives with PGA certified Golf Pro, partake in beach volleyball, badminton, go for a bicycle ride or play on the football ground. The entertainment centre offers table tennis, snooker, table foosball, table top and giant chess, widescreen TV with DVD and a lending library. You can also get hot and sweaty in the fitness centre with a modern gym featuring new equipment, indulge in some water sports, relax and enjoy the spa or go shop in one of the many outlets available.

Prodivers Kuredu

Kuredu Island Resort

Kuredu Island Resort is the home of Prodivers' PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Centre, one of the largest and longest running diving and snorkelling operations in the Maldives. The awarding winning dive centre offers a range of activities for both divers and snorkelers, you can join one of the experienced snorkel guides for land tours to the reefs around the island taking palce daily free of charge. They also boast snorkel trips by boat allowing guests to venture further away and fully experience the underwater delights.

Prodivers covers everything from complete beginner courses, through the full range of PADI scuba diving courses, as well as a large number of specialty programs, including Rebreather diving and courses, Nitrox diving and courses to Prodivers distinctive speciality courses The Maldivian Shark & Ray Diver and the Sea Turtle Specialty.

Prodivers offers boat trips up to six times a day and the diving can be scheduled as a full day, early morning, lunch and even night dives. Independent diving is available at the house reef. The house reef diving is even more interesting with the dive centre’s own wreck just 60 metres from the entry point.

The dive centre offers a full range of good, reliable and fully serviced equipment. If you have your own dive gear, the centre has a large and spacious equipment room, with a separate drying area for wetsuits for you to store your equipment during your stay. Weights are provided upon arrival, along with a bag for transporting your dive gear to the boats.

Diving Courses:

Manuals, certification fees and boat transportation are not included and will be charged at the dive centre.



PADI Advanced Open Water Diver

The Advanced Open Water Diver program gives you the opportunity to take your diving skill to the next level through three new areas of diving.
You complete your Deep Dive, Underwater Navigation Dive, Night Dive and two other dives for a total of five to attain your Advanced Open Water Diver certification.

This certification includes five dives, including the Deep Diver, the Underwater Navigation Diver and three of the following: You’ll plan your learning path with your instructor by choosing from a long list of Adventure Dives. There are two required dives – Deep and Underwater Navigation – and you choose the other three, for a total of five dives. During the Deep Adventure Dive, you learn how to plan dives to deal with the physiological effects and challenges of deeper scuba diving. The Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive refines your compass navigation skills and helps you better navigate using kick-cycles, visual landmarks and time.

The other knowledge and skills you get vary with your interest and the adventures you have – photography, buoyancy control, fish identification, exploring wrecks and many more.

PADI Open Water Diver (Inc Equipment)

This is the most popular dive program in the world! And can be your chance to have a lifetime of intense adventures.

The PADI Open Water Diver course consists of three main phases:

Knowledge Development ( online, independent study or in a classroom) to understand basic principles of scuba diving
Confined Water Dives to learn basic scuba skills
Open Water Dives to use your skills and explore!

PADI Discover Scuba Diving

This course is a subset of the PADI Open Water Diver course. If you're short on time but really want to become a diver, the PADI Scuba Diver rating might be right for you.

The PADI Scuba Diver course consists of three main phases:

PADI Open Water Referral

This is the most popular dive program in the world! And can be your chance to have a lifetime of intense adventures.

From the beginning to end of the course, you will learn the fundamentals of scuba diving, including areas such as dive equipment and techniques that will give you the confidence and skill to become a responsible diver.

You attain this rating by completing five pool dives and a number of knowledge development sessions with a final exam (which is not rocket science its just diving) and by completing four open water dives.

PADI Adventure Diver

Complete three Adventure Divers (underwater photography, fish identification, etc.) and earn the Adventure Diver certification, a subgroup of the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course.

You can choose what you’re most interested in learning. Need to work on your buoyancy skills? Try the Peak Performance Buoyancy Adventure Dive. Want to know what you’re looking at down there? Try the AWARE - Fish Identification or Underwater Naturalist Adventure Dives. You’ll plan your path with your instructor, go over what you need to know and dive in quickly.

PADI Bubblemaker

Experience scuba diving under the direct supervision of a PADI Pro. Take your first breaths underwater in water shallower than 2 metres/6ft. For children who are at least 8 years old.

PADI Enriched Air (Nitrox) Diver

The most popular PADI specialty course. Scuba diving with enriched air nitrox gives you more no decompression time, especially on repetitive scuba dives.

You’ll learn why diving with air that has higher oxygen and lower nitrogen content gives you more bottom time, along with enriched air equipment considerations. During a practical session, and two optional (or required) scuba dives, you’ll:

PADI Rescue Diver

Become a Rescue Diver. A great level to be. You will have the skills to aid your fellow divers in an emergency.

The PADI Rescue Diver course prepares you to deal with dive emergencies, minor and major, using a variety of techniques. Be a leader who mentors and motivates others. Gain dive knowledge, supervision abilities, and become a role model to divers around the world.

PADI Rebreather Diver

Get longer no stop limits, reduced gas consumption (reuse most of your exhaled gas), & unmatched wildlife encounters because you don't release annoying bubbles.

Through self-study and instructor-guided sessions, you’ll learn how rebreathers work and the importance of proper setup and maintenance.
