Murex Manado resort is located on the beach surrounded by tropical palm this picture-perfect resort is suitable for couple, families and groups alike, and it is only a 1-hour drive from Manado airport. Ideally located near to the numerous reefs of world renowned Bunaken National Park and with its own house reef just a step off the volcanic black sand beach you can discover a world of critters and intriguing macro life right on your doorstep!

Offering mix of black and white sand muck and reef diving Manado is home to some of Indonesia’s rarest and most unique critters including the mimic octopus, squid, flamboyant cuttlefish, sea horses and numerous crustaceans, nudibranch and frogfish species. A popular destination for enthusiastic macro underwater photographers.

This delightful intimate resort offers 18 bungalows, 12 Garden View, 3 Ocean View and 3 Pool View bungalows rooms in total. All rooms are strategically spread around the landscaped grounds and include all modern amenities. Buffet meals are served 3 times a day in the open air dining area on the beachfront, with additional facilities that include a designated camera room, ocean view infinity pool, a Spa and as a family friendly resort they can offer childcare on request, have paddle boards and snorkel gear for kids and a rope swing!

Enjoy your day's diving with the on-site Murex Divers PADI accredited fully equipped dive centre with a highly trained, friendly and professional team of dive masters and instructors. As a suitable destination for new and experienced divers, the crew knows the best sites and will share this knowledge to ensure you get the most out of your diving holiday. With around 17 dive sites within reach including Bunaken National Park, you are spoilt for choice with a myriad of spectacular sites, offering early morning dives, Mandarin dives (sunset) and night dives guests can decide on what suits them best.

Kick off your day with a two dive trip to the Bunaken Marine Park which is just 35 minutes away. Look out for the resident spinner dolphin pods that like to play alongside our boats. Return to the resort for lunch, followed by a third dive to explore Manado Bay OR opt for a three dive safari trip with lunch served on the boat. Please note that when diving in Bunaken Marine Park there is a (one off) Marine Park entry fee of IDR 150,000 per diver / snorkeler. Manado Bay night dives reveal a host of rare critters and are definitely a highlight.

Murex dive boats are purpose built for your comfort, safety and to deliver a smooth ride. With 7 boats in our fleet, which range in size, we are able to offer flexible schedules and cater for private boat options as well as for larger groups of families and friends.

PADI Open Water Diver (Inc Equipment)

This is the most popular dive program in the world! And can be your chance to have a lifetime of intense adventures.

The PADI Open Water Diver course consists of three main phases:

Knowledge Development ( online, independent study or in a classroom) to understand basic principles of scuba diving
Confined Water Dives to learn basic scuba skills
Open Water Dives to use your skills and explore!

PADI Open Water Referral

This is the most popular dive program in the world! And can be your chance to have a lifetime of intense adventures.

From the beginning to end of the course, you will learn the fundamentals of scuba diving, including areas such as dive equipment and techniques that will give you the confidence and skill to become a responsible diver.

You attain this rating by completing five pool dives and a number of knowledge development sessions with a final exam (which is not rocket science its just diving) and by completing four open water dives.

PADI Scuba Refresher

Refresh your scuba diving skills and knowledge. Go over important dive safety concepts.

You’ll go over important dive safety concepts, dive planning essentials and problem management. Your PADI Professional will have you practice putting your gear together and doing a pre-dive safety check with your buddy. In the water, you’ll review all the basic scuba skills with a focus on good buoyancy control.

PADI Advanced Open Water Diver

The Advanced Open Water Diver program gives you the opportunity to take your diving skill to the next level through three new areas of diving.
You complete your Deep Dive, Underwater Navigation Dive, Night Dive and two other dives for a total of five to attain your Advanced Open Water Diver certification.

This certification includes five dives, including the Deep Diver, the Underwater Navigation Diver and three of the following: You’ll plan your learning path with your instructor by choosing from a long list of Adventure Dives. There are two required dives – Deep and Underwater Navigation – and you choose the other three, for a total of five dives. During the Deep Adventure Dive, you learn how to plan dives to deal with the physiological effects and challenges of deeper scuba diving. The Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive refines your compass navigation skills and helps you better navigate using kick-cycles, visual landmarks and time.

The other knowledge and skills you get vary with your interest and the adventures you have – photography, buoyancy control, fish identification, exploring wrecks and many more.

PADI Bubblemaker

Experience scuba diving under the direct supervision of a PADI Pro. Take your first breaths underwater in water shallower than 2 metres/6ft. For children who are at least 8 years old.

PADI Rescue Diver

Become a Rescue Diver. A great level to be. You will have the skills to aid your fellow divers in an emergency.

The underwater world changes as day creatures retire & nocturnal organisms emerge. If you've wondered what happens underwater after the sun goes down, enrol in the PADI Night Diver Specialty course.

Scuba diving at night teaches you to focus on what you can see in your light’s beam, on controlling your buoyancy by feel, on staying with your buddy and on paying attention to details you may overlook during the day. During three night dives, you’ll practice:

PADI Enriched Air (Nitrox) Diver

The most popular PADI specialty course. Scuba diving with enriched air nitrox gives you more no decompression time, especially on repetitive scuba dives.

You’ll learn why diving with air that has higher oxygen and lower nitrogen content gives you more bottom time, along with enriched air equipment considerations. During a practical session, and two optional (or required) scuba dives, you’ll:

PADI Deep Diver

Explore deeper dive sites with confidence at depths down to 40 metres/130ft. Learn to manage your gas supply, go over buddy contact procedures, and buoyancy control.
