The San Andrea Hotel is a 3 star modern, charming family run hotel located on Xlendi’s promenade with awe-inspiring views of the Mediterranean Sea. The hotel’s whole existence is linked to a core philosophy of providing its guests with an intimate, comfortable and above all welcoming atmosphere to enjoy a relaxing stay in Gozo. This unique and friendly hotel offers guests a wonderful place to stay whilst either learning to dive or enjoying the variety of delightful dive sites Gozo has to offer. It is affordable and perfectly suited to couples, families and divers alike.

The hotel consists of 28 twin guestrooms with 16 side view rooms and 12 sea views rooms, all are impeccably decorated with modern amenities. Embraced by the steep cliffs of Xlendi Bay the hotel is spread out over 5 floors and is built in typical Mediterranean style. The hotel boasts a fully air-conditioned restaurant and a bar specialising in local and Mediterranean cuisine.

Moby Dives the local PADI 5* dive centre is located just 3 metres away from the hotel and offers daily diving packages and all PADI courses. Ideally located in Xlendi Bay they have an excellent reputation for scuba diving, professionalism and organisation. The fully trained and qualified team will ensure you have a safe and secure dive experience whether you are new to diving or are an experienced diver. The waters around Gozo offer an enthralling underwater experience not to be missed.

Other activities include the sandy and pebbly beach enjoyed by both adults and children similarly, for the more adventurous it is possible to swim and snorkel off the rocks bordering the beach. It is a typical Gozitan fishing village and hosts a number of fishing vessels and boats for visitors to go out exploring in. It is equipped with all the amenities travellers’ desire including restaurants, bars and souvenirs shops.

I would rate the holiday a nine out of ten. Both hotels were very good and the resort was beautiful and peaceful. The pickup and drop off from the airport was also good with all the taxi drivers on time and helpful. I was a first time diver and the dive centre was great, with good facilities and very helpful staff. Sue my instructor was fantastic, meticulous but also entertaining. I was on my own so I found the evenings a little quiet but it is perfect if you are traveling as a couple or with a group of friends. This is the only reason that the holiday did not get a ten out of ten. I had a great holiday overall and would recommend the resort and Ultimate Diving to anyone.

7 nights at the San Andrea Hotel with 5 days diving with Moby Divers .

This was a great holiday experience. From the conversations with Marcelina at Ultimate Diving and the paperwork received to confirm the holiday and all the travel details to the seamless airport-taxi-ferry-hotel transfers all was exactly as described. A very friendly hotel literally a stone’s throw from the water and some fabulous restaurants a couple of minutes walk scattered around Xlendi Bay (The Boathouse food was excellent). Moby Dives just around the corner with friendly and helpful instructors and some great one on one tuition. Well paced training with a mix of classroom work; pool and sea dives and a PADI Open Water qualification at the end – what more could you ask for?!!

Ritual

Xlendi Bay, Gozo

Located in Xlendi Bay on the island of Gozo. A long established dive centre the shop is beneath the Block Apart Hotel and offers guests a wide range of scuba products from discover scuba diving right through to instructor training. The knowledgeable and fully trained staff have an excellent reputation for scuba training, professionalism, organisation and are on hand to ensure guests have a wonderful experience whilst diving in Gozo.It is a PADI rated diving school that offers a wide range of scuba products from ‘’Open Water’’ to ‘’Instructor development’’. All staff are fully qualified and trained to a PADI standard and have had great experience in the area for many years.

Shore diving accompanied or unaccompanied is also available and you will need to speak with the dive centre on arrival if you wish to do any unaccompanied shore dives. The centre has two modern boats, a 6 metres rib and a day boat which are equipped with drop tanks, first aid kits and oxygen these take clients out to a variety sites including Fungus Rock and Rozi Wreck.

Diving Courses:

All courses include equipment, certification and instructor services. Manuals are not included and will be charged at the dive centre. Manuals are approximately 35 Euros.

SSI Open Water Diver

This is a completion of a series of classroom lessons, 5 pool lessons and 5 open water lessons, the award of SSI Open Water Diver prepares the diver to enjoy their diving experience without incurring decompression stops. Kit removal and weight belt removal are included.

Open Water Lessons
5 qualification dives with 5th dive being a pleasure dive. First dive to a Maximum of 12m and subsequent dives to a maximum depth of 18m or 12m if classed as a junior.

From the beginning to end of the course, you will learn the fundamentals of scuba diving, including areas such as dive equipment and techniques that will give you the confidence and skill to become a responsible diver.

SSI Advanced Diver

In order to complete the SSI Advanced Divers you must have completed a total of 24 dives Including the 5 open water dives and done 4 specialties

SSI Recommend a maximum qualifying depth of 30m but this can be increased to 39m with experience.

Stress and Rescue course can be taken before or after Advanced Diver.

The SSI Advanced Diver course includes 5 open water dives and done 4 specialties.
