The Caloura Hotel Resort is located on the south coast of the island of São Miguel on an environmental protected area under the influence of a favourable microclimate. The perfect place for a peaceful and relaxing holiday in the Azores Archipelago. The hotel has direct access to the sea and to its unique, natural and volcanic rock swimming pools. The trails that take you to the swimming pools are all decorated by the region's characteristic basalt stone walls, once used to protect the vineyards and now used to protect the local vegetation and the hotel’s surroundings.

The hotel’s 80 rooms are all decorated in light tones, coral coloured fabrics, cherry wood furniture and balconies overlooking the sea. The modern facilities include air conditioning and wireless internet connection, complemented with a private balcony, a quiet atmosphere and a great service.

For diving, the Caloura Hotel Resort has its own dive centre on-site and with some of the best dive spots just a short ride away; this is the best place to stay on the island. This Caloura PADI affiliated dive centre offers daily boat dives from RIBs to a variety of local sites between May and October with sea temperatures ranging from 17 to 24 degrees Celsius.

The resort’s restaurant, a snack bar and a bar all have incredible panoramic views of the coastline over the Atlantic Ocean. The proximity to the sea gives you extraordinary conditions to practise and enjoy a range of water sports. This resort hosts in addition to scuba diving, snorkelling trips, whale watching expeditions and boating trips. When you are not diving or at sea you can enjoy the many points of interest within a pleasant walk away including the fantastic Ponta da Galera beach, the small fishing port, Caloura's Monastery, Caloura's Cultural Center and Tomaz Borba Vieira.
