The dive centre has a real family feel - it's owned by husband and wife (Zecca and Marisa), and you can tell they invest a lot of time and effort in their clients. I was the only person booked in with them during my week (as it was just outside of the main dive season); whilst this initially appeared daunting they went out of their way to make it an exceptional week's holiday for me. On the second night for example, there was a local street party which they invited me to, so I joined their family and friends for a great evening out and felt really welcome. I had only just recently completed my PADI open water certification so was still new to diving; as I was on my own, I dived with both Zeca and Artur (dive master) at different times, where they both really helped and improved my diving. And in fact, I went ahead and completed my Advanced Open Water certification with them as well! For part of the week, we joined up with another dive centre, which meant that I got to mix with other people and dive other sites around the Island with them; there was one fantastic evening where some of the guys organised and designed Kahuna Burgers at the cafe we went to, to be had by everyone (delicious but very filling!).
Staying aboard the boat was great, especially as it was in harbour every evening; and we had some really pleasant sailing trips to the surrounding islands (think boat in full sail, whilst you lounge on the deck drinking wine and eating cheese and crackers) where we had the opportunity to dive other sites and visit famous bars. Overall, I could not recommend this holiday and dive centre highly enough - they went out of their way to really look after me, accommodate everything I wanted to do, cater for my level of diving experience etc; the diving was spectacular with great sea life, suitable for both beginners and advanced divers (and opportunities to regularly go down to 30m and beyond) and so long as you're prepared to be flexible (eg weather), it is an amazing experience which I hope to repeat again soon.
